Jon Flake

Founder, Force Performance

From a film studies major to a career in sports performance training, Jon’s journey is marked by dedication and adaptability. His academic transition to exercise science, fueled by his love for rugby, set the stage for a distinguished career in strength and conditioning.

Jon's athletic journey began in rugby, where he thrived at collegiate, representative, and semi-professional levels. This experience not only honed his athletic discipline but also sparked a passion for coaching, leading him to want to share his insights with the next generation of athletes.

Over a 12-year span, Jon has played a pivotal role in developing athletes at all levels, including NCAA Divisions I and II. His approach to training has positively impacted athletes from amateur to the professional in the private sector. His expertise crosses various sports, having worked with top athletes in the MLB, NFL, NBA, MLS, USL, Premier League, La Liga, AVP, Pro Indoor Volleyball, Track and Field, and more. A highlight of his career includes serving as the strength and conditioning coach for the USA Basketball U-17 and U-19 Teams,  both of which won gold at the FIBA World Cups in 2018 and 2019.

Jon's core philosophy centers on youth athlete development, driving the creation of Force Performance. Here, he applies his vast experience to guide young athletes, equipping them to excel in sports and life. Force Performance, under Jon's leadership, stands as a testament to his commitment to nurturing the next generation of athletic talent.

Collegiate

At Force Performance, we recognize the unique challenges and opportunities that come with being a collegiate athlete. Our specialized program for collegiate athletes is designed to complement and enhance the team-oriented training provided by educational institutions, with a strong emphasis on individual needs and goals.

Personalized Training Approach: Understanding that collegiate training programs are often designed for the team as a whole, we focus on the individual athlete. Our approach is to identify and address specific areas of improvement, strengths to be harnessed, and personal goals. This bespoke training ensures that our collegiate athletes receive the attention and guidance necessary to excel both within their team and as individual competitors.

Continuous Communication and Feedback: Regular communication with both the athlete and their school coaches is key.
